  Just wanted to pop in and share a quick win because honestly I've been putting this off for way too long. My AC has been blowing lukewarm air since like mid March and I kept telling myself I'll deal with it next week, then next month, and before I knew it we're in full summer mode and I'm driving around with windows down like a fool. Booked a slot, dropped the car off in the morning, and they called me within a couple hours saying it was just a minor leak and a gas refill, nothing major thank god.   Got my diagnosis today and now I'm stuck trying to make a choice that's gonna cost me either way. My 2012 Pathfinder needs transmission work, quoted 6,500 for a used unit with 80,000km on it from a breaker, or around 8,500 for a full rebuild of my existing gearbox. Workshop owner seems honest enough, showed me the old fluid which looked like chocolate milk, explained that the used option is faster but you never really know the history, rebuild takes longer but comes with warranty and you know what you're getting. I'm not made of money but also don't wanna be back here in six months with more problems. Been going back and forth in my head for hours now, reading whatever I can find online to help decide. Anyone been through this dilemma before? Did you go used or rebuild and how did it work out for you long term?   I don't think I've ever been so miserable in a car as I was last week when the air conditioning completely gave up on the way home from work. It was about 4 in the afternoon, stuck on Hessa Street in stop and go traffic, and within minutes it felt like a sauna in there. I had the windows down but that just pushed hot air around and by the time I got home I had a headache and felt genuinely sick from the heat. Took it to a garage the next day and they said the compressor was gone and the system had a leak somewhere. While they were fixing it I started reading up on ensuring your car performs in hot conditions because I clearly can't go through that again.
